Exhibitor Rules

Exhibitors are required to read the rules carefully & send in their entries as soon as possible.

  1. 1. The price of admission for adults will be $7.00 (includes H.S.T.) per day, children under 12 free. Cars may be parked on the grounds Free of charge Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fair passes are available for a fee of $15.00 (includes H.S.T.)and allows admittance to the grounds at any time during the fair.
  2. The membership fee is $5.00, which entitles the member to become an exhibitor.
  3. The Society will be indemnify & hold harmless and not responsible for accidents on the grounds at any time during the fair.
  4. Exhibitors winning $5.00 or over in prize money shall leave $5.00 with the Society for membership the following year.
  5. It is desired that all entries be made on printed forms. If forms are required, the same may be acquired from the Secretary before the fair at the board office - see page 20. of the Fair Booklet
  6. Exhibits must be bona fide property of the exhibitor.
  7. Exhibitors are responsible for their own exhibits, but the Society will do everything in its power to ensure their safety & care.
  8. The Judges' decision will be final and any interference will cause a forfeit of the prize money.
  9. If weather is unfavourable, Society reserves the right to postpone or cancel the Fair or to pay any percentage of the prize money.
  10. All entries in livestock and poultry must be in the hands of the Secretary for Thursday, July 21st. The Society will not be responsible for room if entries are not in on dates specified.
  11. All entries in roots and vegetables, grain and seeds, must be submitted by 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5 and all entries in the Women's Department must be in the hands of the Secretary by 9:00 p.m. Thursday, August 5, 2010.
  12. All exhibitors must have exhibits on the grounds as follows: Ponies for Children's Show 9:00 a.m., Saturday, August 7; Sheep 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 6; Poultry 9:00 a.m., Friday August 6; Roots and Vegetables 9:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2009 - If exhibits are late, no prizes will be awarded.
  13. An entry fee will be charged on Bantams, Pigeons and Rabbits shown by children.
  14. ALL EXHIBITS IN THE AGRICULTURAL BUILDING MUST NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUNDS BEFORE 5:00 P.M. ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 8, 2010.
  15. No person will be allowed more than one entry in the same section, except livestock.
  16. No exhibitor may collect prize money from more than two entries in each livestock section. However, more may be shown to qualify for group entries (livestock).
  17. No animal may win more than one prize except in Specials and team groups.
  18. All space rented inside the Lakeshore Community Centre must be paid in advance.
  19. Fair Board Office will be open in the Lakeshore Community Centre from Thursday, August 5, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to take entries. ABSOLUTELY NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 9:00 P.M.
  20. All special prizes must be picked up immediately. As far as possible, all special prizes must be in the office on the day of Fair.
  21. All junior members must obtain an entry number.
  22. An entry fee will be charged for fowl. For further information, see the Poultry Division.
  23. If an exhibit is not worthy of a prize, according to the Judge, no prize will be awarded.
  24. Trophies will be presented at the Fair.
  25. No alcoholic beverages allowed on the grounds at any times - in Beer Garden only.
  26. The driver only of vehicle bringing in livestock to be exhibited at fair will be admitted free.
  27. Sheep, goats, poultry, rabbits, ducks, geese and pigeons are not to be removed before 5:00 p.m. on the last day. Exceptions upon committee approval.
  28. In case there is a shortage of gate receipts, the directors have decided to pay a percentage of the prize money instead of the full amount.
